November Recreations

All Saints' and All Souls' Day are Bank Holidays in our company. So I had the opportunity to take a trip to the Belgian Coast. Neither the weather nor I were very inspired, but nevertheless I took too many pictures to put them into my blog, so please have a look at them here

Reflections in Town

' Tribute to John Register'

I seldom give titles to my pictures - but when I saw this, I knew that it would HAVE to have a title.

Sadly most of John Registers paintings are in private collections, so you won't find them on the internet - but for those of you who know his work - you will knwo why I had to think about him when I saw this picture.

And I want to quote John Register himself here:

"With Hopper you witness somebody else's isolation; in my pictures, I think you, the viewer, become the isolated one."

Too Bad

No, he will not come NEXT year - he will come THIS year!! The switchboard of the Philharmonic Hall broke down - and I am on a waiting list - if I will be lucky, someone will catch a cold that evening.. otherwise I will have to abandon the idea of seeing him playing the clarinet... that's what I call a bad joke ;-(((((

DirActor'sCut

The first Film Festival took place in Luxembourg and I wanted to take part in this - they had Cassandra's Dream scheduled for tonight - and as a huge Woody Allen Fan I had to be there!
Although the Makers of the Event announced before the Festival that they would hope to expect the one or other actor of this movie to be at the screening, neither of them was there.
BUT - we did have famous company in the theatre - our Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Prince Felix and Princess Alexandra showed up. I never had to stand up at the movies before watching a film ;-)))
AND - the director of the Festival said that Woody Allen would have loved to be there - but couldn't make it - but he promised to be there next year - as he wants to play by all means...
... in our new Philharmonic Hall. I will take him at his word!
